Is those MBA course really worth the time and money?

I was wondering whether it is really useful to spend time and money on those MBA course. I find most successful businessman in my place without higher learning qualification while those with one normally work for somebody else. So what is the use of getting an MBA qualification? Is it used to climb higher in the corporate ladder or to get the basic foundation before one start out in a business?

I just finished my intro to business course and I was wondering how long until i can start my next one.  I already have the book.  If anyone has an answer please let me know.
