1061127 Columbia Southern Therapy Addiction Recovery Brief Case
Instructions
Create a brief case study introducing someone in need of help. If this is someone you know personally, be sure to change names and identifying information to protect confidentiality. In one or two paragraphs, describe the individual’s personality and provide general information about his or her life. Then, explain and elaborate on the situation with which he or she could use guidance.
Now, review your brief case study using the theories of Carl Rogers. Include pertinent terminology from this unit, and cite it appropriately in-text. Examine how this person could benefit from Rogers’s three therapeutic tenets: empathy, congruence, and unconditional positive regard. Finally, critique Rogers’s three therapeutic tenets in light of this case study. Where do you think they might fall short, be ineffective, or possibly work better with the addition of other therapeutic techniques?
Your case study should be at least two pages in length, not counting the title and reference pages. Use at least the textbook as source material, being careful to properly cite and reference in APA style all paraphrased and quoted material.
