Unethical Practices in Government Contracting and Acquisitions
This paper will offer a leader’s perspective on various ethical issues in the army; the paper seeks to establish a correlation on how ethical problems affect the contracting of goods and services by the army.  Army acquisition of service has become susceptible to ethical issues like corruption, particularly in the initial stages of evaluation and selection. However, like other non-governmental institutions, the military faces myriad ethical dilemmas that affect its effectiveness and prudent service delivery (Latiff, 2015).
From the leadership perspective, there is a need for creating a conducive environment that cultivates a culture that enables all levels of management, from the subordinates to the executive, to comply with ethical principles (de Graaff & Giebels, 2017). Therefore, this paper intends to analyze the circumstances under which the stated ethical issues emanate, how they affect the efficacy of the military in terms of service delivery and the leadership approaches that can mitigate their occurrence. The paper will seek to address these issues, their impact on the army, and offer recommendations on the issues raised.
