Post an explanation of how Grant and Osanloo (2014) describe the differences between conceptual and a theoretical framework. Support your explanation with examples from the article as well as from your texts.
Be sure to support your main post and response post with reference to the week’s Learning Resources and other scholarly evidence in APA style.
continue with framework discussions by exploring the use of, and differences between, theoretical and conceptual frameworks. I this post, explicitly compare and contrast them. Please be sure to give careful consideration to these because they will be an integral part of your dissertation and can really slow down the dissertation process if you are unclear about them.
The theoretical framework would be the specific formal theories to be used to help us support our chosen research topic. For example, if the topic focused on identity politics, we might create a theoretical framework using “feminist theory’, which further narrows our focus of identity politics. It is a specific, named theory.
A conceptual framework is more about concepts than specific named theories. It might explore the gender politics lens using concepts such as male dominance, patriarchy, gender dichotomy, and even parts of theories like queer theory.
A lens is an overarching foundation that supports the framework. For example, your broad foundation might be feminism. Through the lens of gender politics, your focus on a theoretical framework, such as feminist theory, or a conceptual framework, such as women, power, and bias. Typically, your dissertation will only use a theoretical framework or a conceptual framework, not both.
