Country Analysis Report
Congratulations! Widgets World Wide (WWW), a manufacturer of component parts used in the construction and operation of enterprise data centers, is now considering expanding into the international business market by building manufacturing plants in that country. WWW uses high volumes of aluminum and other metals to produce its goods. You have just been selected by the board of directors to research and compile a report on a country that the company is considering as its new entry point into the international arena. This project will be done individually, and you must select your country (SWITZERLAND) You will have to submit your report by Sunday, May 5th where these instructions were attached, which will also prepare a Vericite score for plagiarism detection. Though it is not a precise measurement, your similarity index score should be around 10%.
Report Guidelines: Your report should meet A.P.A. style guidelines in all respects. It will include a cover page, at least 10 references, and any necessary/appropriate appendices, which should at least include a good map of your country. The substantive report, not including those things mentioned in the previous sentence, may not exceed 12 pages. You need to provide your information and necessary analysis/recommendations in a complete, yet relatively succinct manner. It must also look professional, which means that it should be organized and grammatically correct.
Paper Report 250 Points 50 points go towards grammar, citations, sources, and formatting and 200 points go to the substantive components.
Your report will consist of:
A one to two-page regional overview of the area where your country is located, including:
A detailed report about country that addresses/discusses the following issues (20 points each):
Trade history;
Major trade activities, including statistics of particular imports/exports;
Identification and discussion of key resources, including natural, technological, human, financial and others;
Political climate Including political risks and armed conflict risk;
Other risk analysis: Currency risks (ID currencies and risks), Economic stability, and Cultural risks/Issues, including business etiquette issues;
Classify the country according to its relative developmental level and support your answer. Does this pose any other risks or opportunities?
You must identify what type of legal system they have and what their judicial system is like, including key legal issues/risks you find in your research, Customs administration, etc.;
You must identify the major trade agreements that country is a member and how those agreements may benefit or hurt WWW’s activities;
Finally, you need a brief, but supported summary of why or why not the company should go there. You should also suggest any types of business activities of that may or may not be appropriate given the environment and resources there.

BONUS OPTION (UP TO 50 POINTS):
The CEO and CFO have told you that if you can come up with a creative planning idea that results in significant cost savings to the company, you can receive a $50,000 year-end bonus. This Bonus Assignment will not necessarily net you $50,000 (yet!), but if you provide a thorough analysis of the two prompts below (25 points each), it could do your grade good!
Provide a brief overview of Free Trade Zones as described by the World Free Zones Organization and a more thorough overview of your particular country’s Free Trade Zone program, or its most equivalent program, including its history, governance, cost benefits, etc. If your country does not have a Free Trade Zone program, then provide an overview of the United States’ Foreign Trade Zone program and describe how such a program might benefit WWW if it existed in your particular country.
Locate a standard Free Trade Zone application for your country and complete it as if you represented WWW, or otherwise prepare the information required to receive such FTZ designation. If your country does not readily make such information available, then use the U.S. FTZ application. Be thorough!
