The Evolution of College/Career Readiness
David Conley is a noted and prolific researcher on the topic of college- and career-readiness. His work began in 2000 in Understanding University Success (Conley, 2003) and has continued with his latest book, your course text, Getting Ready for College, Careers, and the Common Core: What Every Educator Needs to Know (Conley, 2013).
Conduct an analysis of Conley’s work, particularly his definition of career readiness. How has Conley’s definition of college readiness evolved to include career readiness descriptors? Why do you think he made the changes? How would you evaluate the most recent version compared to previous versions?
