Technical Writing – Week 1 Assignment
Reader Analysis Chart
For this assignment, we will explore different types of readers, specifically in terms of their needs, values, and attitudes. You will need to identify/create three groups–a primary group, a secondary group, and a gatekeeper group. You can be creative in your group criteria, but your purpose should center on potential stakeholders for the mock business or organization you created for your portfolio (if you haven’t decided yet, now is the time).
Once you have your groups, create a Reader Analysis Chart (see our textbook for examples). Include the name of your mock business, and an introductory sentence stating the purpose of the chart.

Technical Writing – Week 2 Assignment
Letters of Introduction
Last week, you chose a mock business or organization to focus your work on throughout the course. You also created a Reader Analysis Chart which helped you to identify the needs, values, and attitudes of potential stakeholders in your project.
Every business or organization offers a product or service. This week, you are tasked with introducing your business or organization and the product(s) or service(s) it offers.
To do this, you will need to craft two separate Letters of Introduction, one to a reader who will be in direct contact with your business or organization (primary readers), and another to the members of a local community organization (secondary readers).
In each letter, include a brief technical description of the product or service your business or organization provides, define the targeted users of this product or service, and demonstrate how this product or service might benefit the reader (letter one) and the community (letter two).
For the sake of this assignment, you should use the Letter Format in our textbook. Additionally, each of your two Letters of Introduction should be 250-500 words in length (total 500-1000 words), and should directly target the group for which it is intended based on the details from your Reader Analysis Report from week one.
Technical Writing – Week 3 Assignment
Portfolio Project Proposal
This week, you are tasked to write a Formal Project Proposal for your portfolio (think gatekeeper readers). Using your mock business or organization, write a formal proposal explaining how your product or service could be provided in a more efficient and effective way. Your proposal should be directed toward gatekeeper readers.
Organize your proposal following the steps laid out in our textbook. You are free to choose the layout for your proposal, but make sure you are keeping your readers’ needs, values, and attitudes central in your design.
Your proposal should be 500-750 words in length.
One you have finished your proposal, please submit it to the week three drop box.

Your Résumé and Application Letter
This week, you are tasked to write your Résumé and an Application Letter targeted toward a position of your choice where your skills, education and work experience would be relevant. This resume may or may not be relevant to your mock business. The goal here is to create a resume that will showcase your talents and be useful outside of this class.
Writing a quality résumé and accompanying application letter is a process of self-reflection and self-promotion. You need to accurately represent yourself, celebrate your accomplishments, and demonstrate your abilities and experience, but you do not want to oversell yourself.
This assignment has two parts:
Part 1:
Using either the Functional or Chronological Résumé format from our textbook, craft your résumé.
Part 2:
Then, write a letter of application using the format in our textbook.
Once you have completed these documents, combine them into a single document with your letter first and your résumé second, and submit this single document to the week four drop box.

Technical Writing – Week 5 Assignment
Analytical Report
This week, you are tasked to write an Analytical Report. Using your Proposal from week three, research the feasibility of your plan. Following the steps in our textbook, write a feasibility report laying out the specifics for the implementation of your proposal. Look to the examples from the readings. Your report does not need to be as detailed, but you should cover each of the elements demonstrated.
Your final report should be 750-1000 words in length, and should include APA style citations, both in the t
