In the clinical trial conducted on children that were suspected of having behavioral issues, the Social Communications Deficits in Conduct Disorder addresses a clinical trial done on elementary school children. The study a was used on a populous which included 142 children that were identified on the autistic spectrum or other disruptive behaviors. They also included in the study a group of sixty children that did not have a diagnosis of autism or behavioral disruption. The opinions of the parents and teachers were included in this study with quantitative data submitted through surveys and rating scales such as the Children’s Communication Checklist (CCC). The data gathered was meant to prove the theory that children with pragmatic skills also had associations with conduct disruption and underlying issues with the social interactions and communication abilities. The results of the study were obtained by dividing the result gathering into two separate phases. Phase one was done on the 142 children which showed signs of the disabilities. Phase two was done on the sixty children without the disabilities. Both groups of children were identified as having some degree of conduct behavior.

They were hypothesizing whether or not the children who had to conduct disorder had problems in pragmatic language skills and whether or not if that was the reason for the difficulties for the antisocial behavior in the children who were labeled with conduct problems versus those who did not have conduct problems (Gilmour, Hill, Place, & Skuse, 2004). They used a Children’s Communications Checklist as the research method and they surveyed 142 children. The predominant amount of children were on the autism spectrum disorder (n=87), but there were also those who had conduct disorders (n=55), which later resulted in the learning that “two-thirds of those with conduct disorders had pragmatic language impairments and other behavioral features similar in nature and degree to those of children with autism, independent of IQ” (Glamour, et. al., 2004). When they separated those who had conduct disorders from those who had communication issues they found that the males who had the conduct disorders were the ones who had the most issues at school and in social cues more so than those with autism and if that autism-like symptoms and conduct disorders could co-exist with psychiatric conditions outside of autism.

One area of interest is the formation of relationships, and what are the top characteristics of an ideal relationship. What are the 4 most important qualities a person should have in a relationship for the relationship to be successful. If the characteristics had economic value of a limited amount, what 4 characteristics would be most valued? If a person with unlimited value in their relationship characteristics, what would the 4 most valuable qualities. Robert Sternberg suggested that their where 3 components that fit into the ideal relationship (Madey & Rodgers, 2009, p.76).
Based on a list of 20 variable characteristics that people possess in a relationship if there was an economic value put on them what would be the top 4 qualities than men and women prefer.
