University of Florida Digital Storytelling Article Discussion
Question Description
Directions: For discussion within the two-week modules, you should first respond to the prompt by 11:59 p.m., July 1. Your response should be about 250 words and should include at least one question that you would like to be answered related to the topic. Your following responses (at least two) must be made by 11:59 p.m., July 6. The following responses should be at least 100 words.
Although there are arbitrary deadlines to the discussion responses, it is highly encouraged that you all consider the discussions as opportunities to clarify concepts and further either your own or a classmate’s argument.
Prompt: Read Alaa Sadik’s article “Digital storytelling: A meaningful technology-integrated approach for engaged student learning” (attachment). Rather than typical online articles, this will be a more theoretical reading based on more extensive research. A goal for assigning this reading is to help you all consider what your beliefs are about digital storytelling.
Consider the following questions: What makes a good story, and how does technology make storytelling better? How can digital storytelling be used as a classroom learning tool? Do you think it can engage students? How do you think it does or does not? How can instructors prepare to use digital storytelling if necessary?
Directions: Your response should be about 250 words and should include at least one question that you would like to be answered related to the topic. Your following responses (at least two) must be at least 100 words.
Your discussions in this course will be evaluated using this rubric
