University of Maryland Disability Discrimination of Autism Project
Question Description
Applied Final Project: We will work on this throughout the course, in 3 sections-topic/scenario(5%), Outline(7%) and final paper(20%): For this assignment, each student will write a paper that involves either extensive interviews with a person with a disability or an application of the principles of this course to at least two current events involving disability and/or people with disabilities. In this paper, students will integrate information from class readings and discussions with what they learn from the interviews or additional readings. The paper will synthesize academic material with the experiences of a person(s) with a disability. Your instructor will provide individual feedback for all sections. First, a topic/scenario will be decided and submitted through the assignment folder on the date mentioned in the schedule. Next,a brief outline/proposal that provides the subject to be discussed, the person to be interviewed or the books to be utilized. I do not insist on due dates within the course, but do suggest to complete within weeks 6 and 7, so you are not burdened too much at the end of the semester. The final project and outline is due in week 8, on the dates mentioned in the course schedule. The due dates are also mentioned in the assignment folders where you will find a tab for each of the 3 segments of this assignment.
