My research topic is “Are video games addictive or harmful?”
The article I chose discusses the various types of addictions and how video games can potentially be addictive or harmful. According to the article there is no scientific evidence to support the claim that video games are addictive, but they do offer some instances on why and how this could become harmful. It does say that they have seen some disturbing trends that could lead to this being harmful, where video games can take have an adverse effect on human interaction and get in the way of life situations.
The article was certainly written clearly and had many examples of video game being harmful and addictive, yet they did not make a conclusive statement of the sort. As I read through, it certainly seemed like enough instances of video games being harmful and addictive, but this article specifically states there is not enough research to make that conclusion.
I don’t think more could be done to strengthen the reasoning as it seems clear there are many examples of the effects on video games and the correlation to other bad habits such as social isolation and pornography addiction.
My conclusion is that the article supports the theory that video games are harmful and addictive, but doesn’t want the responsibility to own it.

Does the use of Social Media tend to improve or harm relationships?
The article that I chose for my topic Does-social-media-help-or-hurt-relationships.
Premise 1. social me can bring families and friends together.
Premise2. Social media has made relationships better and brought families closer together.
Conclusion: Social media can improve relationships by keeping people in contact with each other.
Premise 1. Social media has reduced people’s ability to talk to their loved ones in person, this way allowing for a weaker bond in a romantic relationship.
Premise 2. Social media can hinder how we relate to people who are physically present people.
Conclusion: Social media is making things awkward with long periods of silence. It has people unsure of how to enter act with each other when not on Social media. Everyone is glued to their devices.
In the first argument, social media does bring people together and allows them to stay connected. The weakness is that a lot of people don’t know how to use social media or have time for it. Next time that you are out in public look around and see how many people are on their phones and not communicating with one another.
This exercise can make you look at things more objectively if you look at things from both points of view and not just your on the point of view.

1: The sexual culture has changed a lot in recent years
2: There are professionals that continually study these changes
Therefore, students needs to be taught accurate information about this ever changing climate
The argument was very clearly expressed by giving specific examples of why sex ed needs to be taught in schools. The only thing I saw that could have strengthened the argument is statistics on how it helped shed light on the subject. One might objectively understand the issue by knowing how each side can positively be effective. It presented a very strong representation of the argument.
